Please note that the Mexican state of Michoacán is on the US “do not travel” advisory due to cartel activity in rural areas. The cities we visit on our trip are far removed from this, however, it is important to stay with your guide(s) to ensure proper safety protocol is met. Morelia is a very popular tourist destination, particularly for Day of the Dead, and as seasoned travelers it remains at the very top of our list of places to visit. However, due to political tensions and potential safety risks associated with the area, this trip is not available to unaccompanied minors through Sepia. Adults 18+ travel at their own risk.
